during one of the debates. >>> in sports a tough night on the football field for the cal bears. the warriors were at home trying to get their second win of the new season. here's vern glenn with the highlights. >> reporter: the warriors are 2-0 for the year. but i can't say it. they lost their opener last night. bring it up from oracle arena. 18,000 strong waiting for the warriors to roll-out and do their thing against the memphis grizzlies. you had the opening pleasantries and then it was on. turnovers. hurt the warriors over and over again. memphis was up by 14. second half here come the warriors. curry brings it. he had 26 points. warriors down by three. but the grizzlies applied the dagger by rudy. memphis wins 104-94. cal on a friday night hosting the washington huskies. look at cal on the reverse. getting tricky. cal was up 13-7. look how far back the quarterback is. they complete the pass for the touchdown. the huskies go up by one, they led 21-13. zach maynard the cal quarterback injured his left knee on this play. cal now 3 and 7 as they lose from 21-13 final. we are c

week night football game in cal berkeley history going to get underway on a friday night with all that traffic. there is a live take a look now so does that mean a traffic jam is going make history as well? police had a plan to ease the problem. >> they did. people coming from other areas and it is working unless you want to walk. it's kind of different on a friday night. players head into stadiums to take on washington huskies .s first ever friday night game on a day of students and staff had a regular class day on campus. you didn't have much of a chance if you're park ntd areas and from downtown berkeley, bart as well as amtrak situation. and there are fields running free shuttle from there as well. >> it's a showcase for cal's new stadium. retro fitted in a cost of $321 million. more than every improvement known to fan kind including permanent lights. we're conscious of the lights we're putting in and wanted to make sure they're limited in terms terms of spillage. so that way it lights the field not the neighborhood. >> for some students a friday night game is a new experience

, by the way, planning on heading to the cal game later on tonight. they play university of washington at 6 p.m. so officials sent out an alert. they are expecting heavy traffic all the way on city streets in berkeley and coming down the eastshore freeway, westbound 80. so once again, use bart. that's your best option. otherwise, golden gate bridge traffic looks good all your bridges pretty much problem- free at this hour and we just got word that they were able to fix those defective traffic lights that were causing issues on doyle drive in the marina boulevard approach. they for a while had to do some traffic control in the area. now everything is back to normal. and things look good for your marin county drive into san francisco. that is a check of your "timesaver traffic." traffic and weather together every 10 minutes. back to you guys. >>> there is a delay of lab work on a cold case in the bay area of a bone fragment may be from michaela garecht kidnapped from hayward 24 years ago when she was 9. a lab is testing the dna but the mother is told the results are delayed for up to 6 weeks du

. as he was checking in and an inbound n car went past me towards the ballpark and the cal train. i told that to the three one one operator and by the time it came back to the embarcadero station after being by the ballpark and the people waiting patiently except for me at the embarcadero station would do well to get on the train much less get a seat. he was a pol gettic and he assured me he noted my call. within five minutes an out bound train came in to the embarcadero station empty. the schedule indicated it would be more than 30 minutes to the next out bound train and by the time this train got to powell street station it was full and more people each stop after. since the three one one operator knew nothing about a problem and meant all those people didn't call because they didn't expect to get any better service. number three, another more recent time i boarded in train at third avenue and the signage said it was only going to church street. i got on and the driver said in a clear voice on a clear pa system that the train would go only to church street. at every stop he inf

that cal has ever had. >> we're talking about the traffic in the stadium how about the traffic this morning? >> it is been fairly quiet as far as accidents. we have not had any major problems so far, hopefully will stay that way. there's a look at traffic approaching the bay bridge toll plaza. the lights are on heading into the city. the good news is that on the stretch as far back as a was grant over cross. east on 80 of yourself extra time getting into the city but it is not too bad overall. the west on ride as from hayward to foster city is looking all right. in 22 minutes drive time from about to san francisco. the nimitz freeway has been picking up some slow traffic but you can see is moving less than 50 mi. an hour. it's pretty much stop and go as you consintinue southbound. it is just your typical commute traffic but drive time has actually decrease. we're down to 40 minutes as you work your way towards pleasanton. for those of the heading north on 1 01 not a san jose toward sunny hill and 280 there's just a little the slow traffic. overall still looking good. traffic in the north ba
